January 2004

"Red, White and Bunco" handbag (a birthday gift for a friend); inside view; view of bottom (NOTE: The pattern for this purse came from the September/October 2001 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine).

Grape Towel Topper from Embroidery Library. Design on towel is from Amazing Designs set "Vine to Wine"

This shirt will tell you how sick I am of snow days! Design is from Embroidery Library.

Sewing tool belt (pattern from Workroom Concepts)

My new work table (a converted ping pong table -- the top is 6 feet wide and 10 feet long)

I drink a lot of water, and these bottle tags help me keep track of how many quarts I'm up to. They adhere to the bottle with Aleene's Stick it Over and Over. Design digitized with Origins.

Family "stuff" baskets -- everyone has their own, on the shelf by the front stairs. Design digitized with Origins, stitched on felt and hot-glued onto the baskets. Close-up.

I have succumbed to the latest craze: fabric bowls!

Purchased messenger bag embroidered for a birthday present for one of my daughter's friends. Main design from Embroidery Library; larger bananas from Amazing Designs. Lettering done with Embird.

March 2004

Baby pillow for a neighbor's new daughter (design from Amazing Designs)

Half scale dress form created with PatternMaster. PVC frame instructions from Fitting Tips.

It's Smithson Gown time again!

April 2004

Bob's vest for the Smithson Gala

Shoulder bag -- gift for daughter's friend, whose nickname is Kiwi and loves chocolate. Lining, Straps. Design from OESD, drip alphabet lettering from SewTerific

Garment Bag for my son's school play costume (it was faster to make one up with Nancy Zieman's free on-line pattern than it was to go out and buy one!). The bag folds up for more convenient transportation.

May 2004

More fabric bowls (Instructions from the book "Fast Fun & Easy Fabric Bowls" by Linda Johansen)

How I made four shirts in two hours!

Yet more fabric bowls... teacher gifts this time, and a little funkier than usual! This one is for my daughter's math teacher. Close-up of trim. This one is for her English teacher. Close-up of trim.

Red panel pants drafted with PatternMaster (workout pants draft changed in Pattern Editor). Side view, back view. Both panels have a pocket in the top.

July 2004

Poncho made of silk using instructions from Fabrics.com

Wedding embroidery for two dear friends

Shirt and skirt outfit made for my goddaughter as a birthday present. She picked out the fabric and pattern. She really likes how the skirt twirls around.

August 2004

A dramatic cloak made for my daughter for her birthday

September 2004

Fitted blouse made of microfiber. Back view. Pattern drafted with PatternMaster Boutique (classic blouse, scoop neck, no closure, 2 darts front and back with outer dart unsewn, ease 2, 1.5, 2. Set-in sleeve with cap height of -1.5).

My daughter needed a new pair of pants, so I made her a pair using PMB's pull-on draft. Front view, back view. Fabric is a microfiber.
