American Girl International Wardrobe

These costumes were made for a fundraising auction for my children's school in Darnestown, MD. The theme of the auction was "Children of the World."

Kimono

Kimono front

Vogue pattern. Made with pure silk, with satin binding and a rayon print from my stash for the obi.

Kimono-back

The back of the kimono shows the dragon embroidery.

Dutch Costume

Dutch costume

This outfit was done "in the style of" a Volendam traditional dress.

The lace accent on the bodice was embroidered on my Designer 1; it is a Criswell lace pattern.

Flamenco Dress

Flamenco dress front

This is also a Vogue pattern. It is made of red satin, with lace accents on all the ruffled edges.

Over her shoulder is the fringe-edged shawl.

Flamenco dress-back

The back of the flamenco dress, showing the four layers of ruffles that make up the skirt of the dress.

Here are the dresses on display at the school prior to the auction. To the right of the international dresses are two other American dresses I made using project panels.

The dress collection sold for $150, which will go towards new playground equipment.
