Main House Basement
The basement has undergone several transformations over the past five years. When we first saw the house, this area had unpainted concrete block walls, heavily stained and pockmarked. The floor was concrete whose painted finish was half worn away. There was a bathroom that was a health hazard. All in all, it was not an attractive place to be!
The first thing we did was to fir out the walls and hang drywall. This did much to make the space more attractive. We added some cabinets and a wet bar. We installed a new toilet and ripped out the shower stall.
Yet it still didn't feel finished. Finally this year we did more to make this basement space an attractive and inviting place to be. We had a new floating floor installed by Ruhl Floors. They put in a wonderfully warm cork floor that was perfect! Then Bob and Welmoed installed wainscot trim and Bob moved the washing machine and dryer to a different area of the basement.

The laundry area is now tucked in the back portion of the basement. This gives a much nicer view of the basement when you come down the stairs! No more facing piles of laundry!

This is the section of cabinet we kept, as well as the shelves of movies. The green door to the left leads to the Dungeon, which is actually a wine cellar and storage area.
Somewhere down here is the entrance to the Movie Theater!
